Mr. Stephens earned his law degree at the University of Idaho College of Law in 1978. He earned his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University in economics in 1975. He is a member of both the Idaho and Wyoming bars. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association and the Defense Research and Trial Lawyers Association. He is serving as the Idaho State Bar Lawyer Representative to the Federal Courts for the years 2009, 2010 and 2011. He is a trained mediator and is on the Idaho Supreme Court list of approved civil mediators. While he has had experience over the years in many areas of the law including domestic, criminal, banking, etc., he presently handles litigated cases in areas such as construction, business disputes and personal injury. He also acts as the mediator for many types of civil cases.

Mr. Stephens is a member of the East Idaho Falls Rotary club and volunteers time to his Church. He enjoys running, fishing, white water rafting and skiing in his spare time.
